just wondering whether the ipod touch backside is firm enough to avoid hollowing or if something hits it, it will get hollowed?

Probably denting, but I haven't seen that, and I've dropped mine straight on bamboo a couple of times now O_O

Metals don't feel pain, so i doubt they will get hurt.

It is easily scratched, but I put a Best Skins Ever on it right when I got my iPod and it's still as shiny as then. Don't know about denting, seeing as I've never dropped it (the BSE adds a firm grip to the back too).

And I don't know about hollowing...unless you drop your iPod in acid?

Invisible Shield. zagg.com is their site.

I stand by their products... I have bought them for all my iPods and many of my other stuff. I have taken a pocket knife to my iPod touch with that on it and no scratches.

Ya people will say they are expensive but the product is worth it trust me. Just make sure to read the directions. Plus they have a lifetime guarantee, if you gotta replace the ipod etc they will just send ya another when you call them up.

And they are made in the USA as well as being a US company.

And no I am not a employeed by them or anything I just really really love their products.

if had a touch, i would def use the BSE on the back... I currently do so for my 80GB iPod.

You look at it wrong and it scratches.

Just get a silicone/rubber case and that will assist in protecting against some drops. I've dropped mine about 2-3 feet a few times and had no issues.
