Toronto, Duh!
My iPod touch suddenly stopped working earlier today. It worked fine before, but now will not turn on and is not recognized by my PC. It was low on battery when it failed, but not below 10%. It has been continuously charging for about an hour now, and is still unresponsive. Could it somehow have put itself in DFU mode?

It turned on! I held the power and home buttons at the same time for about 2 minutes, the Apple logo appeared, and it looked like it was going to go into restore mode, but then it suddenly booted directly to my home screen.
