Friend has asked me to fix his 1st Gen iPod Touch, when turned on, it sits at the Apple Logo for ever, and freezes iTunes, although iPhoto does find the Photos. When i unplug, iTunes unfreezes and tells me that its synced with another PC, and it knows its name etc.

Putting into DFU Mode doesnt seem possible, as holding Both Buttons shuts it off, not hard reset :/

Any idea's?

Hold the Home and Power Button, and let it reset itself.
Then, let go of the Power Button, and plug it into a computer while holding the home button.
This should alert iTunes that there is an iPod in Restore Mode.
You should then be able to restore.
Good luck!

Nope, nothing comes up in iTunes, after a while iTunes finally Hangs, and iPhoto finds the iPod's Pictures.

you are probably doing it wrong, keep trying
Edit: Here is how you do, it (again)
Hold home and sleep/wake button for ten seconds
Let go of sleep/wake button
Keep holding the home button for 10 seconds or until iTunes reads it as in Recovery mode

I Did that about 10 times, then i decided to try QuickPWN.

This made iTunes see the iPod, found all its info, the iPod was still at the Apple Logo. I Pressed restore, and iTunes lost the iPod.

Tried keeping the USB Cable plugged in, QuickPWN open, and iTunes, went through the recovery cycle, and finally got the Connect To iTunes Logo to come up, and its now restoring and updating!
