iPod touch Ipod touch error 9.

Hi

I am looking at buying a touch off somebody. He says that the touch is stuck in recovery mode. It comes up saying unknown error 9.


I have looked here - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error9

So if I buy the touch I should simple be able to plug into my desktop and it should reset itself or is there more to it?
