I have had my iPod for nearly two years now. When I updated it to iOS 7 the screen would turn on when I raised the volume beyond a certain point. I didn't realise at the time why exactly that happened, I thought it was just a new "feature" of the OS.
Problem is, this heavily impacts battery life. If you adjust the volume many times, the screen simply won't stay off for long.
I discovered recently that that was due the "EU volume limit" Apple has put on the iPods.
If you turn the cap on, the screen stays off. If you have it on however and you go beyond the limit, the screen will turn on as a "warning".
I find it completely asinine that Apple has not fixed this with iOS 8 or even a small update for that matter. Either I have to charge my iPod every day or I have to put a cap on the volume, which I hate.
Any solutions?
