iPod touch iPod Touch Exchange Question

So... I lost the little plastic stand that came with the box. Will an Apple store give me a hard time? I really don't want to eat that $40 restocking fee. I'd rather exchange with Best Buy and push for store credit (if possible?), but my local store is out of stock anyway.

It depends on whether you'd be asking for store credit at the Apple Store. When I exchanged my defective Touch, they just popped the new Touch out of its box and handed it to me without the box or accessories.

I have no experience asking for a refund or store credit with Apple though, so I do not know what they require in those circumstances.
