iPod Touch external speaker

Is there any way to make this speaker emit sound for apps and not just the little clicks and timer/email noise?

I have thought alot about that, there is a speaker so why not. However the speaker may be a very simple one that can only play system files that have been specifically installed to be played and therefor may not be able to play sounds on the fly meaning the random sounds that come up during an app and to make it work every app would involve much more work to make that work. However this is just my guess.

No, there is not. I have tried tricking the system on the old 1.1.4 firmware JB with a audio file as a alarm on the clock. It did not work, just didn't play.
