I'm still waiting for my iPod touch to come in on Wednesday and I was just curious… are the screens any better? The LCD panel, I mean.

Does anyone notice the faint horizontal lines appearing on the screen at any time?

I'm hoping they're using better LCD panels in these new ones.

Please post your opinions about the screen on the new iPod touch's.

I have never seen this occur on my 2G touch. I can't comment on the new screens, though.

I'll answer my own question. I just got back from the Apple Store in Portland ME and yes, the screens are flawless on the new model. I looked at the 8GB and it has the lines, but the 32GB model did not. Seems they have fixed the issue in the latest iPods.

I'm really excited to get mine now. I can't wait!

I hope mine has the same screen as the ones at the Apple Store… those were perfect!
