Maybe it's late, and I'm just tired...

But on eBay, there's a listing for an iPod touch for a thousand US dollars? Isn't the retail only about 300 US dollars?

Anyone see any sense in this?

[Apologies if this is the wrong forum...it didn't seem to fit in Buying Tips, nor iPod Touch as it's not a technical question I have. It's just an interesting tidbit I found online]

For an iPod touch 8GB model, that is very expensive and well over retail price.

I wonder what the bonus is? That probably is what is driving up the price. Without the actual eBay listing it's hard to tell from the picture.

I'll see if I can find the listing again.

But from what I remember, the bonus is an accessory charger, or something like that.

I see a semi-realistic "bid" of $200, then just 2 bidders, jacking up the price.

Of the two of them, how many of them are from Nigeria? :p Seriously, it's probably some kind of scam or shill. If nothing else, the bidders are probably buddies of the seller or the seller themself making fake bids to try to draw interest around the seller's auctions.

Perhaps.

I guess the only thing that could happen from it is either being lucky and getting a seriously unsuspecting bidder, or publicity.

Just seemed interesting to share. :)
