A friend asked me if using the iPod Touch would be good for live gigs.
Basically the pod will be loaded with sequenced music as backgrounds for a live band. I didnt research this prior to him buying one.
As it turns out I cant seem to get it to play one song then stop.
It tends to go to the next song no matter what the settings are.
Is this the case for all iPods?

Thanks :)

I think it is. It is for my iPods at least. I wouldn't recommend using an iPod touch for the background music. Unless it will be plugged into an amp. The sound card in the iPod touch isn't too good.

Oh it goes thru a mini mixer prior to mains. Ive tested a few that work great live just didnt realise that songs continue. my frieds just being picky cause his last crappy no name brand MP3 player stopped after one song. Im wondering of there is an app he can install on that Touch?

You might trying putting the one song in it's own playlist and then accessing through that playlist. I believe it will stop playing once it has completed playing whatever is in a playlist.

playlist

I thought of that too: place each song in a playlist and play the playlist. It should stop after the 1 song.

Another method is to add a silent track that is say 1 hour long
Place the silent tracks after each song

Then just use next to go to next real track.

the track usually have an 8 count so thats not a prob for me. however Im starting to think that this should be an option in iPods :)

Its really easy my band uses an Ipod touch for backing tracks live. what I do is create separate albums with the song title so each song will be under a different album. so go into itunes and name the album the same name as the song and what I do to make things easier is put them in order like 1. song name, 2. song name that way everything is nice and organized
