I just now noticed it despite having the beta.

Drop a pin in Google Maps or search for an address. Then tap the little orange guy beside the pin's pop-up.

Voila! Street View!

Yes, I too was greatly surprised, disappointed, and angered.

Watch, I bet it's going to come with iPod touch 2.3, which I predict will be released at MacWorld 2009, and they're going to charge us like $10.
It may not be worth it if they don't add in copy/past and backgrounds to go with it.

man you called it. just the whole 2.3=3.0 thing lol

any other map improvemnets

are there an other improvements to the map on ipod touch 2g, using the 3.0 software. What about gps? I have not downloaded the 3.0 software as of yet; going to wait untill tomorrow.

thanks

yea, i noticed this last week. i'm glad they finally put it in there. you can also change your transportation method when getting directions. you can chose between a car, bus, or walking

woh, the street view works SO smooth. flawless, even better than on a computer.

And if you want to move further down the road in street view, just tap the arrow on the road.

Neat, ever since getting my Sony phone with this feature I've wondered why Apple didn't support it. Good to see more features :)

It is very fluid. Transitions are silky smooth and rendered very fast.
