iPod touch iPod touch = Good time to buy?

Ok everyone, is this a good time to buy the touch? since im hearing they sold out everywhere, im considering apple store online, will i get it in a week, or later? Has the screen and hissing problems been all worked out in model 38s?
and if i get a 37 model in a macy gray box, should i keep it or return it?

LOL. This is like the 4th time I've posted this, but i got a 37 in the other chick box and it's perfect.
