We have Retina HD, will we see an iPod HD? You know, high resolution files? There's too much movement from the likes of HD Tracks, Sony, and Pono for this to not eventually happen. As always, Apple is allowing others to beat them to market, but if they don't want to completely kill the product that recharged the company, an HD iPod might be the way to go. In fact, it's the one thing that justifies an iPod's continued existence because with the huge file sizes of high resolution files, people won't just be able to keep all their music on their iPhones.

Maybe even.....and this would be the coolest option of all....an iPod Classic refresh with a (fast) click wheel, a flash drive, and a high res audio chip.

But when......?
