For a while now, I have been having trouble with the headphone jack on my ipod touch 1st gen. I:confused:t seems that whenever I plug headphones in I either get audio on only one side of the headphone(L,R) or nothing at all. I have tried 3 different paris of headphones and this happens with all of them. Does anyone know if Apple will cover replacing my touch since I am under the 1-yr warranty?

Have you specifically plugged these same headphones into another source and gotten both ears to work? I know that's a common problem of headphones breaking down. If not, you definitely have a headphone jack issue. Do your specifically remember damaging your jack? If not, then it's definitely covered under warranty.

There may be some dirt in the headphone jack. Try blowing some Dust-Off (canned air) into it. I didn't have exactly the same problem, but that fixed an issue with my iPhone where it thought I had the headphones in and wouldn't play on the external speaker.
