Hey guys...

I have an ipod touch 3rd gen 32 gb. The thing is, it's been repaired by strange means...

What happened was, some months back, my ex-roomie dropped it and cracked the lcd and disfigured the back case.

I changed the LCD module my self as apple wouldn't even touch the phsyically damaged ipod. Since then i've not been having problems until recently.

The thing just wont turn on anymore. If i plug it into my MBP, it just stays off and os x doesnt even detect it. iTunes doesn't seem to notice it's been plugged in and I've tried every troubleshooting method there is on the internet from setting it into DFU mode and attempting to restore. It won't even go into DFU mode to start with. I think i should mention that the ipod seems to be heating up excessively at the upper left hand corner. It's not warm but actually a little unbearably hot!!!!

Please tell me there's something I can do. I don't mind changing things inside it as I'm pretty okay with electronics... Do advice me you ipod techies!

Yours electronically,
S.O.
