Hi,

I have an iPod with iOS 4 or 5. Don't know which at the moment. I've heard that upgrading old iPods to iOS6 slows them down. Is this true? It is already pretty slow and I'm trying to figure out what to do to speed it up...

You can't make the processor faster. The A4 is now quite slow. The A5 is much faster.

Although few and far between. Some people are reporting slight performance improvements over iOS 5 on the 4th gen touch and even more performance improvements on iOS 6.1.

In this case the processor isn't the issue (notice the iPhone 4 runs just fine on iOS 6) but lack of ram. The iPhone 4 has 512mb (like the 5th gen touch) vs. the 4th gens 256mb which was low from the get go.
