Hello, I am a 16 2g ipod touch owner but am a little confused over something. The 8 gb nano holds 2,000 songs and the 8 gb touch holds 1,750 songs. The 16 gb nano holds 4,000 songs and the 16 ipod touch holds 3, 500 songs. Shouldn't it only be about 200 songs and not 500? Not trying to complain, I just thought that was a sizable difference. Amy

Ok, that sounds very cool and I'm sure you are much smarter than me, but don't get that. lol So sorry for non-techie here.

Both the iPod touch and the regular set of iPods use an operating system to run. The operating system designed for the classic style of iPod is much smaller (filesize) than the operating system designed for the iPod touch.

The iPhone/iPod touch OS is actually a full-blown version of the desktop OS X, just stripped of everything that it can't use and doesn't need on a phone.

It's still a larger OS, though, so that's the discrepancy.
