iPod touch Ipod touch issue - pls help

Hey folks, i have ipodtouch 4g
when i use the connector to connect my ipod to hdtv
it doesn't show up
any insight pls

sry i was not clear,
i am using apple digital av adapter

i am connecting my av adapter to ipod and to the tv using hdmi cable
i am trying to screen mirror my ipod/iphone
tried several times doesn't work
i get the sound out put from my tv when ipod/iphone is connected

any help

This is a good example of why you need to give as much info as possible to obtain help. There are any number of things that could be the problem.
1)The simplest is did you check to make sure the input for the hdmi port on the tv that you are attaching to is selected.
2)Have verified that hdmi port works properly by plugging another device that you know works into it?
3)Is this a genuine Apple adapter or a knock off?
4)Do the tv and iPod both work properly independent of each other? If yes, then will the setup work on another tv? If yes, it's the tv. If no it's the adapter.
This should be fairly easy to diagnose, so just eliminate all the possibilities.

1) yes works fine, i attach the bd player to it
2) yes
3) its genuine, apple product
4) yes, i need to attach it to anothe tv and see.

also, can you please tell can i connect this same ipod touch or iphone to a monitor


i also tested the same thing using iphone, have the same issue. i see sound comes but not picture

Yes it should work with a monitor that has hdmi. What generation devices are you using? The Apple product page says it's for iPod touch 4th generation and iPhone 4 and 4s. I also notice there are more 1 star ratings for this adapter than 5 stars. It might just be a bad adapter.
