iPod touch Ipod Touch Jailbreak Keeps Restarting

Well today i decided to restore my ipod touch and update it, at first i tried using itunes that would work just ate up my cpu and sat there for hours doing nothing, then i decided to use the option in the settings menu i tried that and waited then it finally finished(?)but looked like it hadn't finished because it booted up like normally with the apple logo flipping into a skull telling me it was jailbroken and it just keeps restarting freezing on the loading screen when the apple logo flips and the skull appears, i have tried putting it into dfu but it doesn't work, so i decided to check here if anyone could give me any advice on this
