iPod Touch + kindle

My iPod Touch is a version 1.1.5 with a software upgrade (I'm not sure just what that improved) Is it possible for me to display books from Kindle on my Touch? (I thought I recalled that Kindle requires a Touch 2nd or 3rd generation....and I guess I'm asking did my upgrade get me far enough to allow my to use Kindle or iBooks?
