iPod touch iPod touch ... need help!

[NeedHelpPlease]

I have a 8gb ipod touch and i was using it and all of a sudden i connected it to itunes and it says to recover my music from itunes to my library or something so i clicked it and it took a long time and i then disconnected my ipod touch and then the screen was all black and all it had on there was the apple logo. there was no way to turn it off so i held the home and sleep button and then it went black. I turned it on and it still just had the apple logo. i connect it to my macbook and itunes didn't recognize it or it just didn't show up. what should i do? please help! thanks
