Go to http://store.apple.com, click on Shop iPod on the left, then click iPod Touch tab that appears in the middle of the screen. Shows a price of $279. Might be a typo...but thought I'd post it anyways.

IT IS GOING TO DROP VERY VERY SOON. In the australian apple store the ipod nano and classic have just dropped by $40! The ipod touch will be the next to follow.

Back to $299...

Oh boy, more complaints from those who had to "buy the iPhone Apps" for it....

Maybe more apps? Another $20 to update? (actually, yes, I think the update to 2.0 will cost money for Touch users)

You can buy the 8gb Touch without the January apps for $279 almost everywhere. $299 with apps. At several online stores you'll find the price (not easily) to be something below the $299. I think they'll have to lower the price soon. It's hard to justify the original prices given lower prices on components.

Apple doesn't like to play the Moore's Law game.

8 a.m. on Easter Sunday and it still is saying $279. It would be nice if Apple did drop the price but $20 seems like such an odd number.

I guarentee that you could call an Apple rep and buy one for that price. Just say its advertised on the site and send them the link. Done.

$229 for an Apple TV is an odd number as well. I don't expect the iPod's price to drop, but that pricing point is not unrealistic.

I guess you're right. I just checked and the price is still wrong. I guess we will find out tomorrow since it's a Tuesday.
