Keep in mind when I write this I'm in Australia, and what I've found is from the Aussie ebay site. Apologies in advance if this is old news.

I was looking around eBay for iPod touch prices, as i'm interested in buying one in late August. To my surprise, I found the prices to be rather cheap. For example;

8GB iPod Touch: RRP $400. eBay New: Under $300
16GB iPod Touch: RRP $500. ebay New: Around $400

Granted, used iPod Touch (ranging from alright condition to units boguht a few days ago) are going alot cheaper.

My quesiton is, while I'm happy to see this, do you guys think this will stay?

Will the price go down in the next few weeks even more?
Will the price stay around the price ob eBay it is now?
Will the price slowly rise back to RRP over the next few weeks?

If Apple were to update the iPod line, the only thing i can see happening is the 8GB gone and the 16GB replacing it for RRP of 400, but eBay users are already sellign new units at this price.

What's your opinion on this? Just a quick glimse on ebay.com.au (or maybe the same situation in the US) will show you what I'm talking about.
