Ok. I'm mad.

So I decide I should update to 2.2. The features sounded pretty cool, and I really wanted the new podcast over the air thing. So I set to restoring, and it gave me an unknown error, said it couldn't be restored. No biggie, I said to myself. This happens all the time! So I tried a second time. And a third. And it didn't work. Has anyone had this problem? The exact message is: "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2005).

Please help?

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Just to clarify. I'm using a legit Apple Mac running 10.4 (with all those hackintoshes, I fell it needs to be said now....) Oh, if it matters, 2.0 GHz C2D, one gig of ram.
