iPod touch iPod Touch Security Locked (2.2.1) HELP!

Our 3 year old locked her iPod Touch. We don't know the code. I can't find an active link to the 2.2.1 iPod Updater anywhere, and iTunes refuses to connect to it.

What on earth do I do?

Links appreciated for any download needed.
