I've been having problems with my 2nd gen iPod Touch skipping the first or second song on a playlist ever since I upgraded to iOS 4.2.1. When I choose the first song, it shows it is already at the end of the song and goes on to the next one. I've heard that this is a problem with 4.2.1 and it has been fixed in newer versions. The problem is 2nd gen iPod Touches can't be upgraded past this version! Has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it?

It is possible that some of your songs are set to "Remember playback position", or have manual start / stop times enabled. You can check these settings in iTunes by selecting one or multiple tracks and then viewing..

Get Info > Options > Then viewing the check boxes in the window.

No, that's not it. The ones I noticed it on are set to start at the beginning.
