My iPod Touch 32GB 2nd gen has always had a little bug- if I listened to music for a good period of time, and then woke it up to change to something else, it wouldn't wake up the way it should. The music would stop, and it would delay very slightly, and then reset to the home screen.
But then it started stopping more and more frequently, for no reason. Over the past couple of days it's gotten to the point that it's unusable because it stops itself after about a minute every time.
So this morning I was kind of torked with the situation... because I really wanted tunes to work out with. So I made a few changes to the iPod, which resulted in problem going away, at least for about an hour of solid, regular usage, there were no problems. I am wondering which of my changes made it work normally again... what do you think?
* It's a 32GB, and I had it nearly full- just 1.5GB of space remained. I removed about 3-4 GBs of music to clear up some space, thinking that maybe it just needs some breathing room to "think" a little
* I turned "auto-brightness" back on... it was previously off. My aftermarket Belkin case was covering the light sensor and it was always too dark...
* I turned the iPod off, and then turned it back on. I am wondering if perhaps there is a troublesome music track on my iPod. When I play it, maybe some ugly code or some other kind of demon gets released into the system. This gets the iPod confused and it eventually gets into that nasty stop/reset process. However, by turning it off (I usually keep it powered on nearly all the time, just "paused") that little piece of code or gremlin or whatever; is sent back into the cage and not released until I play the "bad" song again...
Anyone have any suggestions or anything? I am wondering if I should send it back to Apple regardless and try to get it replaced... or if I am unwittingly causing this problem myself due to one of the above... or something else. I have never jailbroken or anything like that and all music on there is mine... with the exception of about 6 songs from Slim Thug that a friend gave me... I know he downloaded them from somewhere and they could be the songs that are giving me the trouble... (also FYI liquid indicator in headphone jack has not been set off)
