Hi Folks,

I'm trying to help a friend out with an ipod touch she bought on ebay. She knew something was wrong with it, but wanted to try and fix it (or have it fixed).

I tried restoring, but it stops with an error -1604 with no real help on the apple support site except it's one of many possible error message and to try the steps, which we did.

Here is the photo of the screen:
(btw those bars are vertical. I snapped a vertical pic using my iphone, but for some reason, this is coming out horizontal instead).

These lines/bars are also yellowish green and flash nonstop. Only way for them to disappear is to let the battery run out.

Any ideas would be great.

Cheers,
Keebler

The iPod has a hardware issue most likely. You can try taking it to the apple geniuses and see if they can fix it.

Cheers
