Hi Everyone,

Bought a new AV receiver to replace an older Denon with an iPod dock (the old 30 pin connector). It would be nice if I could use this old iPod somehow... I am thinking it would likely use the 3.5mm jack.
When I run iTunes to get an update or anything, it says it can not connect to the store. It has wifi. I was hoping it would do airplay or something after an update, but, I think I might be hosed doing any sort of wireless playback? Anyone know what can be done with an ancient iPod? Also, is it possible to transfer the music to a new iPod if I were to chose that route?

Thanks.

Which version of iPod touch is it? The 1st generation can run up to iOS 3.1.3. Many apps are no longer supported on that old version of iOS, but music still works just fine from syncing from iTunes.
