Alright.. My Nephew just opened his iPod Touch. My other Nephew plugged it into my laptop to try and load some music on his brothers ipod. He could not get it to work so he asked me to fix it. I just plugged it in and I can't get it to connect either.

I even tried formatting the ipod by holding sleep + home until it restarts then release sleep and hold home until it shows up in itunes. It then shows iPod attached.

Name: iPod
Capacity: n/a
Software Version: n/a
Serial Number: n/a

I hit restore and get the following popup in itunes. "Software for this iPod is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and try again."

What's this all about and is there a walk around? All I need is a working iPod Touch.
