Ipod touch wont sync to new macbook

I just got a new macbook and used a 3rd party app to get my music to the macbook. Now my ipod touch wont sync with itunes. I tried restoring with no help

Ok I figured it out and got that sorted but now how can I sync my ipod touch applications without buying them again? The January upgrade thing
