Basically it will not run on any more, Saturday it was fine, used it on my bike ride to super market. Sunday came along, went to use it again, not working... thought that’s weird as it wasn’t close to dead battery, but hey, I know how funky the battery in the corner can be with apple stuff... so, I charged it, as you do, whack a lightening cable in it, come back few hours later... nowt, diddly squat, nada...
I googled my issue, problem is, the home button has been non functioning for around 2 years, so I’ve been using the on screen home button from accessibility menu, this makes a restart a little difficult (power+home)
The buggered home button doesn’t bother me at all, I just want to use my iPod again (my phone requires USB-C headphones or Bluetooth and my line in to USB-C is broken, which is irrelevant but hey)

Any ideas how one can sort this problem out? Short of sending it off for ‘repair’...

Is there alternative way to restart an iPod?
Or am I now just stuck with a very thin brick? Well, more like a small piece of slate...

Thanks folks

It seems obvious but I have to ask. Have you tried a different cable, charger block, or outlet? Does the screen do anything when you plug it in? What about holding the power button down when it's plugged in?
