iPod iPod USB/Firewire connections

Hey there,
I have temporarily misplaced my iPod USB cable, (iPod 2gig Nano, original kind) and I was wondering if there is anyway of making iTunes etc think that the iPod is connected with USb even though it is connected by firewire, if you get my drift? It's really irritating as I have just bought a whole raft of new songs and things on the store! Hope everyone's New Year is going better than mine!!
