iPod touch iPod using AIM itunes account?

Alright for itunes I use my AIM account. When I type that in the username and type in the correct password it says my password does not work.
Then I go on my computer to make sure I am putting in the correct password and it works fine.

So what is going on with my ipod? do i need to put -my aim-@aim.com or aol.com?

Well if anyone else runs into this problem, here is the solution..

Plug into iTunes. Go into the itunes store on your comp, and click on your account to where you see all your info, previous purchases, etc.

EDIT: the above method only worked once. WTF is happening
