No camera or mic. Most apps work, but some are dependent on the phone, camera or mic.

They do have WiFi.

32GB ($399)
Wi-Fi Internet access, Built in Nike+ sensor, GPS-like triangulation, Built in speaker.

iPhone
8GB ($199 + Approx. $80/month for 2 years w/contract)
16GB ($299 + Approx. $80/month for 2 years w/contract)
Phone with 3G wireless Internet access, Wi-Fi Internet access, Camera, GPS, Built in speaker.

Both the iPod touch and the iPhone give you access to the AppStore.

What about the Maps app, that comes with the iPod touch? :D

The iPod touch does come with the Maps application. For one, it can use triangulation of wi-fi signals to determine a relative location. In addition, say that you wanted to use it for directions on a trip -- while you're connected to the Internet over wi-fi, just enter the information, and all the images will be saved in the app, so you can see where to go as you drive.

thats sad.... i really wanted to get one. but now it is smashed by the iphone... i guess i'd wait until my current contract ends.
