My ipod was stolen from my house today by a person who I'm 99% sure took it.

I have the find my iphone app installed on it and my ipad, however, the wifi is off on the ipod and it's password protected.

What should I do guys?

Thanks..

You probably won't be able to trace it using Find my iPhone then; you said it was locked and in order for it to be located it has to use a WiFi connection, which the thief can't access unless he knows your passcode.

Sorry.

You won't be able to do much unless he access the internet.

Wifi is off and it's password protected. If he restores/wipes the ipod clean will I be able to track it once he gets on the internet?

No. If it's wiped clean your account settings to Find my iPhone will be wiped with it.

if you're so sure you know who took it. you should confront them

If they're gonna take it they're not going to admit it. Even if I confronted him he'd just get rid of it or something before the cops could do anything about it.

Aren't I able to provide Apple with the serial number and then they'll call the cops if it's registered to itunes?

No. They have better things to do with their time. You're outta luck, sorry.

Will I be able to tell using find my iphone on my ipad if the ipod touch has been wiped? Like will the ipod disappear on the app? Or will it just continue to say it can't be located ?

As xMBPx says, if they wipe the iPod, then all of your programs are gone, so you won't be able to find it via find my iphone.

My question is will is disappear from my ipad once it has been wiped? Or will my ipad always show it?

Back in HS, I overheard a guy say that his friend came over to their house and stole $100. They where keeping a pile of money on a table for some reason (weird but whatever...maybe they own a store).

Anyways, he said he got it back by cooking up an ingenious plan (snake like but a plan nonetheless). He said to his suspect friend that he has surveillance tapes of him stealing the money and he's going to release it to the police (total lie) unless he immediately confesses and return the money.

The suspect friend confessed and gave back his money.

So to the OP, if your smart about this situation, you could get your iPod back and WIN! :D:D:D

I came across your thread by accident...hope this helps!
