This is what I am looking for...not sure if it's possible on any level.

I'm looking for a way to control an 80GB Classic Video iPod via the Apple Remote App from anywhere in the home. I currently have the iPod plugged in via the RCA cable to an Onkyo Receiver.

Is there a dock of some sort, maybe wifi enabled to make this even a possibility?

Thanks in advance for the help and advice.

Even if in a different room? I'm not clear on how the iPhone would communicate with the dock if that makes sense...

i think the dock has a sensor that will receive the signal then go through the iPod via the 30 pin connection just like any dock remote such as an home.

That IR sensor works with an Apple remote, but not with the Apple Remote app that runs in iOS.
