I just bought a 15GB iPod an hour ago so I can get it Friday afternoon with second-day shipping. Now I'm freaking out a little. Will the new iPods be Windows compatible out-of-box?

I watched the live Satellite webcast at my local Apple store and I thought Steve Jobs said something about iPod Windows compatiblity being late because Windows can be a lot less predictable (and everyone in the store laughed at that). Did I imagine this or what?

Well, if you have firewire I think you'll be fine. The delay is in the software that allows you to use it with the Apple USB 2 connector for those who have USB 2 on Windows

If you have FireWire, you'll be fine. The software for USB 2 won't come out till June.

So yeah, it'll work out of the box, just not with USB 2.
