iPod Ipod wiped all my songs and will not restore! Please Help!

Hi, My songs got wiped for no reason?? I was listening to it one night, turned it off, went to bed, woke up next day turned it on and everything was wiped! I thought it was ok because i have all my songs on itunes so i tried restoring it and it had the error 1418, can't be restored! I have tried nearly everything, i even tried using windows but no still nothing. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AROUND FOR ANSWERS FOR 2 HOURS! PLEASE HELP!

Well if you can actually turn your iPod on, it sounds like your hard drive might have died. Call Apple or take it into an Apple Store and have them look at it.
