Hey guys,

I just got an iTouch today. It has OS 4.1 -MC540C.

I know there is a new OS 4.2 out. Should I download that and jailbreak that? or just stay with my OS 4.1 and jailbreak that?

I'm just confused with the OS 4.2, some people are saying you can not shut your itouch off or it won't work? Something like that? I'm not exactly sure.

Are there any advantages of upgrading to 4.2?

Thanks in advance!

They are talking about a tethered jailbreak...meaning that you will have to re jail break everytime you restart your ipod.

i just read on 9to5 mac that 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak is out. :apple:
:)

oh. so then i might as well just jail break 4.1.
i don't want to have to re-jailbreak everytime my ipod restarts.

thanks for the info.

i guess i can always upgrade and jail break once they figure out the kinks to 4.2.1

This means that they have figured out the kinks. You can jailbreak the iPod without worrying about having to connect it to a computer every time you need a restart
