This is pure speculation on my part. With the upcoming iMessage, I think it makes sense to have an w-fi enabled iPod for around $99.00 which can also act as a messaging application. This is not an iPod touch but something like an iPod + messaging device. Internationally, BB messenger is still popular as a cheap messaging device with youngsters and this kind of a device may be of some appeal to that segment. May be two models: iPod with Wi-Fi and iPod with Wi-Fi and 3G
