So, randomly today my iPod stopped charging. I tried several different chargers/ect and the problem seems to be coming from the device itself. It is not completely dead, and when I plug it in, the screen that indicates you need to plug in your device comes up every 5 seconds or so. (This Screen:https://support.apple.com/library/c...ges/en_US/iphone/iphone5s/ios_low_battery.png)

EDIT: The screen is now completely black and unresponsive. (Home and power button holding won't work.) I did get a small amount of water on my device a few days ago (spilled water), but after simply drying it off with a towel, it worked just fine until today.

Anyone know what I could do to fix this? Thank you in advance!

My iPod now has a black screen and is completely unresponsive. Even when I hold down the home and power buttons. Any idea what is going on?

Try cleaning out the charging port with a tooth pick. It can get clogged with fluff which prevents charging.

I have this issue - it first occurred last week. Two days later I plugged it in again to charge and it did so. This morning however it is blank and completely unresponsive again. Is this a thing with the new iPod?

Make sure you're using either the supplied wall wart or an appropriate USB port. Not all USB ports supply the juice to charge the iPod. I apologise if this appears too rudimentary. Categorise this under never assume anything.

This morning it worked fine - It had been connected to the charge cable. Still cannot see what the issue has been
