My 30GB iPod simply refuses to turn off, and has for the past few weeks. I've heard about people having this problem before and tried everything suggested, fiddling with menus, reseting, even restoring the thing. It's nothing silly like it being on hold, and it won't shut off even if left for hours and hours on idle, the battery just drains.

Any ideas?

Won't Shut Down

I am actually having the same problem. If someone knows how to correct it, please let me know. It would be greatly appriciated.

Weirdness. If you've already tried restoring it like dogfishrising has, then let it drain right down 'til it shuts off. Leave it for an hour or so in this state. Then plug it back in and charge it back to 100% in one go. See if that helps. :)
