Hello,

I recently purchased music from the iTunes store and it came in MP4 format. It updated to my iPod fine however I bought a new computer and imported my library from the old comptuer and forced the iPod to update using the new library. During the update it said "Several files are not licensed for this computer and will not be update." All the music I had purchased did not get updated to my iPod. Is there a way to rectify this?

You need to Authorize the new computer to play these tunes before the iPod update. Authorize now then update and it'll be fine.... I think.

Plus..... if you don't plan to use the old one deauthorize that one as you can only do a max of 5

Ok, how do I authorize the new computer to play the songs?

NVM, I just figured it out. Thanks for your help!

What happens if you get past 5? Are you screwed forever? Some people I knew didn't know that and have used 4, because they've restored their windoze computers many many times. Will apple help in this case?

Make sure you deauthorize your computer before you upgrade your RAM, hard disk or other system components. If you do not deauthorize your computer before you upgrade these components, one computer may use multiple authorizations. If you find you have reached 5 authorizations due to system upgrades, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen. Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have less than 5 authorized computers or if you have used this option within the last 12 months.

To deauthorize all computers associated with your account:
  1. Click Music Store in the Source list.
  2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
  3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
  4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
