I have recently purchased the 12.9 IPP M1 and really happy with it. But, I want to used this more as a work horse and really need to connect a monitor as an extended desktop, rather than mirror output. I purchased a usb-c hub and could connect a generic 1080P hdmi monitor, but whilst it was suggested the hub supports extending the desktop, this didn't work.

I also found that the mouse would stop working and some apps would not expend to the whole screen, so quite a mixed experience so far. Maybe iPad OS 15.x will improve on this functionality, but in the mean time.....

Has anyone got a 2021 ipp working with extended work space working?

TVM.
ps, if you have, awesome, could you list the hardware you got this working. Thx.

The iPad only mirrors the display on the monitor - it does not expand to use the entirety of the display (a few apps like video players and some LumaFusion functions will use the full display for media). This does not change in 15 (at least currently and nothing has been announced). Welcome to to the world of iPad and poor monitor support ...

Oh dear. I was hoping that this new iPad could have been my one stop 'desktop'. I could leave a monitor setup in my physical office and move around as needed. You would think with the M1 processor that has the built-in GPU cores, it could easily support an external monitor, this would be perfect for me. But alas, i fear you could be right.
