Hey guys,
I am planning on purchasing an iPod touch 4g soon (case i bought just came in the mail the other day) and I'm still not sure whether to go with the 8 gb or the 32. I have maybe 1 or 2 gb of music and about 100 apps that can't take up more than 2 gbs. I would plan on loading some movies and photos too. But the big thing that I'm not sure about is space for HD video. I know that I will probably take some, and over time my usage will probably increase. It only costs $70 more for 4x the storage capacity, which makes the 32 gb enticing to me.

Any insights from current users with 8 or 32 gb capacities? Will I be pushing it if I buy the 8 gb? I don't want to regret getting the smaller model, and I am a teenager so while I can afford the extra cost easily, I don't want to spend more if I don't have to.
Thanks

I am having the same predicament. However, I'm not sure how long it will take me to get $70 more than I planned on spending.

If you have the money, you should probably get a 32GB.

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but:

As said before I am having the same predicament.

I don't want to spend the extra, and I will probably have 500 songs at most. In a year or two, 1000 at most. I will probably have 250 songs, and then in a year or two 500 songs. I won't have much, if any, video. Probably a 100 or so photos. Not sure about the apps. But since apps don't take up much space, probably a GB or two will suffice.

You should get the 32gb version if u plan on using the ipod touch for atleast 2 years. 1 or 2gb for music is only 100-200 songs, your music collection will grow by years... Since ipod is a great platform for games i recommend to get the 32gb, exclusive ipod games from big developer will be big in the future

I will probably update when the 6G comes out. If there is.

On average it is 250 songs per GB.

most of them are games.

climber
monster dash
red alert
bowman war
chaos rings
0.03s
knightsrush
civelation
fruit
istudiezpro
plants vs zombie
splinter cell
robotunicoirn
street fighter
Games are ridiculous memory eaters. Can't really blame the system there.

If you want to use it, not just for testing as a software developer then 32gb is the sweet point for most purposes. 64gb is way too expensive.

You guys need to use the "convert to 128 AAC" feature, it's not like most of you are using headphones that could take advantage of higher bitrate songs (and the touch hardware can't take advantage of it really either)
