iPT 5 as camera? I got it for stills and videos but also to display my maps (TIFFs) when on the road or hiking. Point & shoot no good for maps.

Easy to d/l the photos onto OSX Desktop using Image Capture. But how to load the TIFFs into the iPT? I assumed I could just drag image icons onto the iPT desktop icon, but there is no such icon. It is a *hidden* device!

Trying to avoid use of iTunes since I have no account or current use. Also do not use iPT for email or internet, so to be avoided if at all possible.

Is there a list of iPT stand-alone uses that derive only from the OSX Desktop interaction?

The only way to get images from your computer to your iPod is through iTunes. You do not have to have an account to do this. In iTunes, when you plug your iPod in, will allow you to sync a folder or set of folders of pictures to your iPod.

Try cloud based solutions? Skydrive, Google Drive? and then cache the required files onto the device. Otherwise, you need to sync with iTunes.
