OK this is a new problem... I tried to connect my IPT to my mac computer last night and it made the "noise" and the plug is shown on the upper battery level but it wont "sync" t the computer and it appears that it is actually NOT charging the IPT

Now I hooked another iPM to the same computer using the same cord and it syncs no problem..

I then took my IPT and hooked it to my wifes iBook and it connects, syncs, and charges and pulls up itunes..

my question is what would cause my IPT not to sync to my Mac computer for no reason?

I went into "isync" and with the IPT on, wifi on and plugged in it would not "find" my IPT

I'm confused..

If it matters this is a 8GB hacked IPT it connected just fine about a week ago (or last time I connected it)

just to update I tried to sync my nephews IPT and same thing. it wont connect on my comp but it will on my macbook

so it is narrowed down to my computer will not sync/notice and IPT to the cord.

I was having the same problem this morning. Did you just upgrade to Leopard, or is this the first time you're trying to sync on the Leopard OS? I was looking in the iPhone forum, and they advise that you make sure you upgrade to the latest version of iTunes. If you are already running the latest version, try reinstalling it completely.

I'm not at home right now, so I can't try it, but I plan to first thing this evening.

Nope I have had this computer with itunes on it for quite some time...

I had re3cent updates to both the OS and itunes.. but it just appears that the computer itself is not syncing the ipt.. my wifes imac has all the same updates and it syncs there..
