My infrared remote no longer works with my MBP it just stopped.
It works fine on my MB and iMac.

Checked security pref and there is no option to turn on/off IR receiver.

The usb tree doesn't list an IR receiver either
My OS is 10.5.6

Please help,
Thanks.

Oh come on! no one has nothing to say or help?

Check under the security settings in system preferences and see if you see any settings for the infrared receiver. If you don't then you are probably in the same boat I was, your IO board is a bit wacky. If that is the case I hope you have applecare. I took mine in and they replaced it within 2 hours while I shopped around the shopping center.

other things to check are to make sure your remote has power by turning on your isight or any other digital camera for that matter and shooting the beam into the camera. See if you see a little light flicker at the end.

Or try pairing the remote by holding down menu and play for about 10 seconds 6" away from your IR receiver.
