I would like to know what is the best irc program on the mac, an equivalent to Mirc if possible.

ircle is shareware but has every feature you could ever want (some people don't like it but i found it usefull). xchat is now available as a native osx application and can do everything that you need. upk is full cocoa (except for the waste text engine) and offers a great option for chatting without heavy dcc requirements.
